The Heat Map report allows the user to view “Hot Spot” areas for online delivery orders.
A 'delivery order hotspot' refers to a specific area or location that consistently generates a high volume of delivery orders. This could be due to various factors such as high population density, a large number of residential buildings, offices, or a particularly loyal customer base within that area. These hotspots are critical for QSRs to identify and cater to, as they can significantly impact the efficiency and profitability of the restaurant's delivery service. Optimizing delivery operations for these hotspots might involve strategies such as allocating more delivery resources to these areas, using data analytics to predict peak ordering times, or implementing targeted marketing campaigns to further increase order volumes.
The Heat Map report can be found under the Deliveries panel on the YUMBI reports page or by following this link: Delivery Order Heatmap

The primary way of filtering this report is through “Weighting“. Weighting shows the distribution of orders on the heat map depending on what has been filtered.
These filter options are as follows:
- Transaction Count
- Order Value
- New Customers
Once a Weighting type and restaurant have been selected, the report will populate the map.
The Heat Map report displays “Hot Spot” areas using a colour scale to differentiate the orders being filtered. The colour scale ranges from green to red representing the two ends of the spectrum.
Red Areas represent concentrated zones with higher amounts of data that have more “Weight” compared to other areas. Green Areas represent lower concentrated zones and have less “weight” in the overall data. Yellow Areas are the medium/average zones within the heat map. (See Figure 1)
