How do I troubleshoot issues with the YUMBI Printer?

Normal Operating Screen

When the YUMBI Printer is operating normally, a signal bar should be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen, as well as the letter 'G'  and an arrow in the top left-hand corner. See image provided below of a fully operational YUMBI GSM Printer.

If you have received an SMS warning that the YUMBI Printer located in your restaurant is currently offline it is possible that one of the following scenarios has occurred.

Please go to the YUMBI Printer and run through the scenario check-list below.

Error Scenarios & Solutions

4.  Printer screen displays the text "DNS Error"

Please perform a manual reboot by switching the printer off and on again, or remove the power adapter and re-insert it. 5. Out of Paper

Thermal Credit Card Rolls is the usual paper that is used inside the GSM Printer. This can be found at any stationery shop if required.

6. YUMBI Printer stuck in a loop

Click here to view the troubleshooting steps for this issue.

7. Slip printing faintly

YUMBI GSM Printers use thermal printing. The common cause for the slip to print faintly would be more than likely that it is not plugged into a charger, therefore ensure:

  • The printer is always plugged into a charger.
  • Ensure that the paper roll used inside the printer is Thermal Credit Card rolls (these can be found at any stationery shop).
  • If all the above has been checked and the slip is still coming out faint, it means that the YUMBI Printer is not receiving enough energy. The charger may be worn out.

 All other errors

Please perform a manual reboot by switching the printer off and on again, or remove the power adapter and re-insert it. Check that the antenna located on the left-hand side of the printer is tightly secured and in the upright position. (Depending on your model you may not need to do this step.)

If none of the above steps resolves the problem, please complete the YUMBI Printer Fault online form here. Once the form has been submitted, our dedicated agents will reach out to assist.
