What is the difference between SMS and Push Notifications?

In short, an SMS text message allows franchisees to send text messages up to 160 characters in length directly to a customer’s cellphone. SMS's will reach customers who have previously ordered via website or call-in (unless they have previously opted out).

A push notification is a brief message or alert that is "pushed" through the mobile application to customers who have ordered via that respective brand’s application. The application does not have to be open in order to receive the notification. However if an app customer has disabled their push notifications, they will receive an SMS.
